I have worked with him on several projects and have been blown away by his ability to innovate to produce outstanding outcomes.
The first project involved working with a handful of children to produce a video sharing their thoughts on what the future world would look like. He presented a brief that not only captured the desired business outcome but also captured the natural curiosity that children have. His ability to focus in on this, and identify what will peak the viewers interest, is what makes him such a strong story teller.
Another project was to film one of our environmental experts and capture his thoughts on the impact of single-use plastic bags. Again, Richard determined a suitable location and filming style that enabled the talent to feel comfortable and unpressured. His passion for the subject matter shone through and made for an energised interview. He then went above and beyond and went to the local supermarket to capture b-roll to illustrate the narrative. It’s this willingness to go the extra mile to craft a story that sets him apart.

Richard is a Senior Multi-Media Designer with WSP and, in this role, has often supported the Bid Team with multi-media presentations to a very high standard. Richard has been involved with recent projects, including Transpower’s BIM and Queenstown Lakes District Council's Active Travel proposals. For both of these proposals, we wanted to engage the client in what we could do and sell our vision for the projects with an emotional punch.
To achieve this, we challenged Richard to produce a short video detailing our team's approach and showcasing our project outputs and the team's expertise.
The videos produced were engaging, thoughtfully edited and produced in a compressed time frame, as required often in the proposal world. Richard is calm under pressure, resourceful and always meets our demands for timing and quality of output.
